Genre Genie is not a lyric generator. This workflow starts with words you already have, then proposes where sections begin and how the musical backing should change. The distinction is built into the data flow: the model supplies line ranges, and the browser reconstructs the lyrics from your original text.

Start with the production direction

Select the direction whose groove, palette and development suit your words. Use it with your existing lyrics, or begin with the local blend template. The saved structure retains its source version, so a later production revision does not silently change the kit you already reviewed. You can explicitly choose a newer source when you are ready.

Paste your own lines

Keep each lyric line on its own line, with blank lines between stanzas when useful. Standalone bracketed section tags may be replaced during formatting. Nonblank source lines remain the source of truth, including their spacing. The local skeleton can provide a starting structure without an AI call. AI structuring is optional and uses the provider key you selected.

Review boundaries separately from cues

A boundary decides which original lines belong to a section. A cue describes instrumentation or delivery for that section. Moving a boundary should not rewrite a phrase; changing a cue should not invent another verse. Use the local editor to split or merge sections, adjust line ranges and edit production instructions without paying for another model request.

Be explicit about repetition

The repetition option permits a previously used complete chorus range to return. It does not grant permission to improvise new words or rearrange arbitrary fragments. With repetition disabled, each source line must appear once in ascending order. Gaps, out-of-range line references and unauthorized repeats still fail validation because those are integrity problems, not differences in creative taste.

Keep earlier versions when the draft changes

Editing a lyric draft can make an earlier set of boundaries stale. Genre Genie keeps the saved structure and its source-text snapshot rather than overwriting it automatically. Review the differences, explicitly reuse boundaries with updated input, or rebuild. An AI result that arrives after you changed the input is staged for the earlier draft instead of being silently applied to the new one.

Copy and check the destination

The complete kit contains style, exclusions, suggested sliders and the structured lyrics assembled from your text. Check the current limits and behavior of the music tool where you paste it. Section cues are guidance, not promises about a generated performance. Review the result by listening; keep useful changes and revise a specific musical decision rather than rewriting your whole lyric to satisfy a prompt template.
