Genre Genie is an independent Archaic Intel project for people who want more deliberate musical direction before generating a track. The local engine produces a starting brief; optional AI calls add interpretation and alternatives. The project does not generate audio and is not a lyric generator.
How the score is made
The engine combines tempo fit at 40%, groove fit at 35% and mood fit at 25%. Tempo uses overlapping working ranges or half/double-time relationships. Groove uses a hand-tuned matrix. Mood compares the dataset’s relative darkness values. The Engine room shows the calculation for your selected pair.
What the score is not
These are design heuristics, not a study of model success rates or a factual ranking of musical traditions. The underlying genre sketches are simplified. Treat them as an explanation of the app’s starting assumptions, and override those assumptions in your brief when the track calls for something different.
Examples, references and claims
The public examples are illustrative creative directions. They are not presented as audio-tested results. In-app song suggestions come from your chosen language model and are not verified against a recording catalog. Search links help you assess the suggested recording and element yourself. No catalog lookup, listening analysis or third-party endorsement is claimed.
Your work remains yours to manage
The workspace, versions and usage ledger are saved locally in the browser. You can export them. Optional AI requests send the relevant brief or lyric lines directly to your chosen provider. There is no hosted application database. See the privacy page for the distinction between local storage and provider processing.
